Notifications
Knobs separates “there’s something new” from “you specifically are needed.” Ordinary activity accumulates quietly as unread state; things aimed at you — direct messages, @mentions, task assignments — get called out.
Unread state, everywhere
Section titled “Unread state, everywhere”Each product keeps its own live unread indicators:
- Mail — unread dots on threads and counts per folder.
- Chat — an unread dot per channel, and a mention pill with a count when someone @mentions you or messages you directly.
- Tasks — your task views update live as things are assigned or completed.
Badges update in real time across every tab and device: reading a thread on your phone clears it on your desktop too.

Across workspaces: All Domains
Section titled “Across workspaces: All Domains”You don’t have to visit each workspace to know something happened. The All Domains view rolls unread mail, mentions, and tasks from every workspace you belong to into one list, each item badged with its origin workspace. See Workspaces.
Push notifications on iOS
Section titled “Push notifications on iOS”The iOS app delivers push notifications for new mail, direct messages and mentions, task reminders and assignments, and calendar reminders. Tapping a notification deep-links straight to the thread, channel, task, or event. Allow notifications when the app asks after your first sign-in.
Marking things read
Section titled “Marking things read”- Opening a thread, channel, or message marks it read immediately.
- Chat channels also mark read as you view them, clearing the badge on all your devices at once.
