Desktop & mobile apps
Knobs runs everywhere you do. The web app at app.knobs.io is the full suite;
the desktop app puts that same suite in a native window; and the iOS app is a
native mobile experience built around the things you actually do on a phone.
Desktop (macOS & Windows)
Section titled “Desktop (macOS & Windows)”The desktop app wraps the full web app in a native window — every product, every feature, and your theme work exactly as they do in the browser, with no browser tabs to lose it in.
- Full parity — Mail, Chat, Tasks, Docs, Sheets, Drive, and Calendar, identical to the web.
- Signs in the same way — your knobs address, password, passkey, or GitHub.
- Always where you left it — reopens into your last workspace and product.
Because it is the web app, anything documented for web applies to desktop unchanged.
The iOS app is fully native, focused on the mobile-critical surfaces:

- Sign-in parity — identifier-first sign-in with your knobs address, passkeys, GitHub, and 2FA challenges all work natively; even account creation and workspace onboarding run on the phone.
- Push notifications — new mail, DMs and mentions, task reminders, and calendar reminders deep-link straight to the item. See Notifications.
- On-device voice — dictation and read-aloud use Apple’s on-device speech, so audio never leaves the phone. See Voice.
- Instant cold start — recently viewed mail, chat, and task lists render immediately from a local cache while the refresh runs.
