Invitations & RSVPs
Add attendees to an event and Calendar handles the rest: workspace members are notified in the app, outside guests get a standard email invite, and everyone’s answers flow back to you.
Invite people to an event
Section titled “Invite people to an event”- Create or open an event and click into the Attendees field.
- Type each person’s email address and press Enter — workspace members and outside guests mix freely in the same list.
- Save. Invitations go out only when you save.
What each attendee experiences depends on who they are:
- Workspace members get an in-app and push notification, and the event appears on their calendar automatically. Being invited is its own grant — they see that one event in full even if your calendar isn’t shared with them, and nothing else on it.
- Outside guests receive a standard iCalendar email invite that renders natively in Gmail, Outlook, and every other mainstream calendar, with their usual Yes / Maybe / No buttons.
Track responses
Section titled “Track responses”You’re notified as each attendee answers — whether that’s a member responding inside Knobs or an external guest clicking Yes in Gmail. Guests’ emailed replies are matched back to the event automatically; there’s nothing to import.
Changes and cancellations
Section titled “Changes and cancellations”Edit the event like any other and save — Calendar keeps everyone current:
- Members see the change on their calendar immediately and get a notification.
- External guests automatically receive an updated invite for a time change, or a cancellation notice if you delete the event, and their calendars update in place.
On a repeating event, the scope you choose — this event, this and following, or all — controls which occurrences the attendees’ updates cover.
Respond to invitations you receive
Section titled “Respond to invitations you receive”When a workspace member invites you, the event lands on your calendar marked as needing a response, and you’re notified. Open the event in the Knobs mobile app to answer Yes, Maybe, or No; the organizer is notified of your choice. Events you’ve declined stay visible on your calendar, struck through.
Invitations from outside Knobs — Google Calendar, Outlook, anywhere — arrive as email and render as an invite card in Mail, where you can add the event and RSVP in one click. That flow is covered in Calendar invites in Mail.
