Members & invites
Settings → Members & invites is the workspace roster: everyone in the workspace, their role, and every invite still waiting to be accepted. Owners and admins manage it; members can view it.
Invite someone
Section titled “Invite someone”- Choose Invite.
- Enter an email address or a phone number — SMS invites are first-class.
- Optionally add a first and last name. Names you set here are locked for the invitee, and drive their address when the workspace uses a fixed address format.
- Send.
Each invite generates a one-time link. The recipient gets it by email or text, and it also appears in the pending list so you can copy and share it yourself (in a chat, for example).
Accepting is one step even for people new to Knobs: the invite doubles as sign-up — they pick a password, get their address on your domain, and land in the workspace. The contact you invited them at is pre-verified as their recovery contact. Details in Invite your team.
Pending invites
Section titled “Pending invites”The pending list shows every unaccepted invite with who sent it and when. From here you can:
- Copy the invite link to re-share it.
- Revoke an invite — the link stops working immediately.
Change a member’s role
Section titled “Change a member’s role”- Find the member in the roster.
- Change their role: owner, admin, or member.
Role changes take effect immediately. See the Admin overview for what each role can do — note that admins and owners have implicit access to every doc, sheet, and calendar in the workspace.
Remove a member
Section titled “Remove a member”Removing a member ends their access to the workspace immediately: they lose the workspace from their switcher, their session there ends, and they’re dropped from every group roster. Their mailbox and content aren’t destroyed — mail they sent, docs they created, and messages they posted remain, so nothing your team depends on disappears.
Seats and plans
Section titled “Seats and plans”- Free plan: up to 3 members. Invites beyond the cap are declined until the workspace upgrades.
- Paid plans: seats are unlimited; each member is a billed seat, and seat count adjusts automatically as people join and leave. See Billing.
